Skip to the second paragraph if you do not want to read them. Jimmy "The Tulip" Tudeski (Bruce Willis) is a professional hit man with 17 kills to his credit who moves next door to Matthew Perry (Nick Ozaransky - "Oz"), a milquetoast straight laced dentist, to avoid retribution from fellow bad guy Yanni Gogolack (Kevin Pollack). Gogolack wants Tudeski dead for killing his father. Oz's wife (Rosanna Arquette) 'convinces' him to go to Chicago to meet with Gogolack to snitch on Tudeski for a "Finder's fee." While there, Oz spills the beans about the whereabouts of Tudeski, Then Oz has an affair with and falls in love with Tudeski's estranged wife Cynthia (Natasha Henstridge) who is in "protective" confinement by Gogolack. While planning a counter-assault against Gogolack's coming assault, Jimmy finds "true love" in a hit apprentice and assistant to Oz who has been biding her time while studying her target, Oz under a "contract" by Oz's wife to kill him. And throughout much this melee is Frankie Figgs (Michael Clarke Duncan), the gentle giant with a heart of gold, John Coffey of *The Green Mile.* As Duncan plays the partner in crime to Tudeski, the Coffey character of *The Green Mile* was not recreated in *The Whole Nine Yards.* It was though the two parts were played by two different actors. Some light-hearted comedy and ingenious one-liners plus the fame of Willis and the genius of Duncan were somewhat successful at masking much of the trouble with this movie. While some issues which were not in accordance with God's wish for the things we feed to our minds, some were out-and-out vulgarity and filth. For example, in one scene the only thing an actress was wearing, head to toe, was a door knob in her hand, followed by several lesser degrees of nudity [Rev. 16:15 "...so that he [or she] may not go naked and be shamefully exposed."] There are many, many references in the Bible about nudity being shameful. Among other items of sinful behavior were drinking to settle anxiety [1Pet. 4:3], suggestions to have recreational sex, revealing clothing [1Cor. 6:18-20], and at least five murders with glorification of murder [Luke 18:20]. Also, sexual offers, illegal use of firearms to intimidate, homosexual references, and (of course) intercourse dotted the cinematography. In addition, "I'm gonna kill you" between kids, "Just whack [kill] her", excessive cleavage, and sexual motions fill out the spaces for which quality programming could not be found. Do you see a thread or two developing here? There is much more to the listing of ignominy but I will leave that to the Findings/Scoring section of this report. So many of our visitors seem to be relying only on this Summary/Commentary for a full assessment of this movie. This is not possible.
