EXECUTIVE SUMMARY / COMMENTARY:

"A Walk on the Moon" -- was a walk through sexual freedom. And a walk along a parallel path to adolescent arrogance against parents.

Set in the Woodstock era of the sixties, a regular family gets exposed to the licentious lifestyle of anarchy and egocentricity of the hippie generation. The central mother, who got lonely while on vacation because her hubby had to work long hours to pay for it, met and really met -- several times -- a traveling blouse salesman freek (Oh, how original!). The traveling salesman forced himself into the mother's space using the close confines of his mobile showroom as an excuse to invade her space. He gave her his phone number in case she decided to return a free blouse. And, in the twilight of the day when her juices were flowin' she called him to return the blouse. And one thing led to another.......in bed, in a waterfall, underwater, and several other places.

Oh, yeah. The daughter, who was in the Woodstock crowd against her parents wishes, who saw her mother in the Woodstock crowd frolicking in a drug stupor with painted breasts, painted by the traveling salesman, screamed profanities at her mother a couple times after she had shown as many young girls who might see this movie how to experiment sexually, how to usurp a mother, how to ....... many things. One expression used to 'help' this girl, who "just became a woman" in the movie, "Save the home run for somebody special" and, of course, "husband" was not mentioned. There were no murders or suicides, though.

The most foul of the foul words was there ... in spades. So was God's name in vain with and without the foul letter expletive. Also, mystic predictions and foretelling of the future plus talk of the stars being in control of fate popped up. (Let us not look not to the stars for help, but rather look to the One who MADE the stars.) The three/four letter word vocabulary which seems to be so popular with the entertainment industry slipped out of the speakers rather often, too. And drugs? Mom and others were doped up. And a child of four or five was handling a nearly full jug of Mad Dog 20 (strong Mogan-David wine), the koolaid of the hippie generation. And what is it that most four or five year olds do with a jug with drinking stuff in it?

And what on earth did all this ahve to do with the moonwalk by our astronauts? The mother was doing her thing as the astronaut said "...a giant leap for mankind."

    (1) As noted in CAP Special Report-001, "Investigation Area and Scoring Trend," of the six CAP Investigation Areas, Impudence/Hate was the strongest presence in all four movie classifications. It has a strong revelation about the entertainment media.

    (2) The use of the three/four letter word vocabulary without God's name in vain is incorporated into the Impudence/Hate Investigation Area. The use of God's name with or without the four letter expletive is incorporated into the Offense to God Investigation Area. There is no duplication. As required of the Holy Scriptures, unless God's name is used with reverence to His glory and praise, its use is considered in vain.

    (3) Only portrayal of successful murder or suicide are incorporated into Murder/Suicide. Portrayal of attempts to commit murder or suicide and deaths by police action or war are incorporated into Wanton Violence/Crime.
