EXECUTIVE SUMMARY / COMMENTARY:

"Go" (R) -- I've forgotten more about this movie than I remember. That's how nondescript and forgettable it was. Again I am thankful for annotating all the examples of unacceptable programming else you would have an incomplete accounting.

I *can* remember, however, a particular scene I wish I could forget. A young lad, about 8 or 9, shouted the most foul of the foul words in a very foul way. And it was not dubbed! Are there no longer any unacceptable behaviors for preteen actors and actresses? I wonder whether his mother enjoyed the movie?

"Go" was a movie about drug dealing, sex, and booze. There's little more to say but let me give you *something* about the movie. Fifty-two uses of the most foul of foul words. Thirty-seven uses of the three/four letter word vocabulary. Nudity. Sexual innuendo. Sex talk. Bartering for sexual favor. Teens smoking dope. Teens consuming harder drugs. Teens drinking beer and other alcoholic beverages. Gaping mouth kissing with inappropriate touch. Sexual intercourse. Drug dealing. Firearm injury. Homosexual kissing. "Mary Sex-mas Shop." If we had never used "X-mas": if we had always kept Christ in Christmas, maybe this offense would have never been thought of. That's enough.

For a complete representation of our analysis, please be sure to read the listing in the Findings/Scoring section.

    Offense to God (O)(2):
  • God's name in vain twice without the four letter expletive

    Murder/Suicide (M)(3):
  • None noted

    (1) As noted in CAP Special Report-001, "Investigation Area and Scoring Trend," of the six CAP Investigation Areas, Impudence/Hate was the strongest presence in all four movie classifications. It has a strong revelation about the entertainment media.

    (2) The use of the three/four letter word vocabulary without God's name is incorporated into the Impudence/Hate Investigation Area. The use of God's name with or without the three/four letter word vocabulary is incorporated into the Offense to God Investigation Area. There is no duplication. As required of the Holy Scriptures, unless God's name is used with reverence to His glory and praise, its use is considered in vain, whether literal or euphemistic.

    (3) Only portrayal of successful murder or suicide are incorporated into Murder/Suicide. Presentation of attempts to commit murder or suicide and deaths by police action or war are incorporated into Wanton Violence/Crime.
