EXECUTIVE SUMMARY / COMMENTARY:

"Election" (R, 1999) -- a "S", "I", "D" movie: sex, impudence, and booze (drugs/alcohol). Well, what do you expect? It was a show about teenage life. Is there anything else to teenage life? If the movie producers answer that question.......

Unfair and corrupt election processes abound in this movie about the election of a student body president. And I suppose there are words larger than three or four letters in the vocabulary of the average teen, but not according to this (and other) movies about teenage life. . . . . . .No wonder why many of them talk that way. And it is no wonder why the world believes all teens are little more than sex machines.

A teen girl, who joins everything, signs up for everything, and volunteers for everything, runs for student body president. And just to give her a challenge, a teacher talks a boy into running against her. The male contender has a lesbian sister, who also runs for student body president on a platform of nihilism and anarchy, whose lover dumps her for her brother who is given oral sexual favor by the previously lesbian lover. (Note that her head was all that hid his hide -- nothing hid the movements and positioning). And on top of the teen sex was a teacher -- yup, on the girl running for student body president, who bragged about his conquest of her using vulgar descriptions typically associated with XXX movies. And the married teacher who talked the boy into running for student body president fornicates while his memory scans other females in his life, including the first girl running for student body president -- each of them appear in a wishful thinking cloud and speak in terms also typically associated with XXX movies. There's much more, but I doubt I need to tell you of any more. So, I will happily stop here with this ugly narrative.

For the best representation of the CAP Entertainment Media Analysis Model applied to this movie (and least vulgar representation), visit the Findings/Scoring section below.

    (1) As noted in CAP Special Report-001, "Investigation Area and Scoring Trend," of the six CAP Investigation Areas, Impudence/Hate was the strongest presence in all four movie classifications. It has a strong revelation about the entertainment media.

    (2) The use of the three/four letter word vocabulary without God's name in vain is incorporated into the Impudence/Hate Investigation Area. The use of God's name with or without the four letter expletive is incorporated into the Offense to God Investigation Area. There is no duplication. As required of the Holy Scriptures, unless God's name is used with reverence to His glory and praise, its use is considered in vain.

    (3) Only portrayal of successful murder or suicide are incorporated into Murder/Suicide. Portrayal of attempts to commit murder or suicide and deaths by police action or war are incorporated into Wanton Violence/Crime.
