LOVELY AND AMAZING (R) -- another movie presenting pedophilia -- adult/teen sex. Production: Good Machine Distribution: Lions Gate Films Inc. Director(s): Nicole Holofcener Producer(s): Anthony Bregman, Michael Escott, Debra Grieco, Ted Hope, Michael Kafka, Jason Kliot, Charles J. Rusbasan, Joana Vicente, Judith Zarin, Eric d'Arbeloff Written by/Screenplay: Nicole Holofcener Cinematography/Camera: Harlan Bosmajian Music: Craig Richey Film Editing: Robert Frazen Casting: Juel Bestrop, Jeanne McCarthy Production Design: Devorah Herbert Art Direction: Missy Parker Jane Marks (Brenda Blethyn) in the middle of the boxart image has three daughters: Michelle (Catherine Keener) on the left, Elizabeth (Emily Mortimer) on the right and Annie (Raven Goodwin) swimming. Elizabeth and Michelle are grown and on their own. Annie is eight years old. Annie is adorable. Annie has beautiful eyes. Annie is a adopted. I like movies about adoption. My wife and I have adopted seven kids. I wish I could like this movie.. Jane, in her 50s, in "midlife crisis" decides to pay $10,000 to have ten pounds of fat liposuctioned off and is relying on her daughters to watch Annie while she cannot. Jane develops a sexual crush on her lipo doctor, hoping he will find her attractive enough after the surgery to want her. That he is married to another woman and that she is not married to him seems to have less than background noise concern in this new age, enlightened movie. Hey! This is the 00s! But little do many know ... or accept ... that what was sinful when the Book was written is still sinful today [Hebr. 13:4 ]. Elizabeth is a somewhat successful actress who is overly concerned about her sex appeal to her audiences. She is under the new school thinking that it takes sex to be successful it in the performing arts. Indeed, she practices such "schooling" with a potential leading man, Kevin (Dermot Mulroney). She even has him evaluate her body, inch by inch, in a "front of the class" demonstration of the new school teachings. Elizabeth apparently does all this apparently to hear someone say her upper arms are not flabby after all. There is full female nudity, front and rear, in this flick. Well? How else could the script have a subplot of "non-sexual" anatomical inspection in a professional artful manner? At least that is what a secular reviewer called it - non-sexual. In a pig's eye! Michelle is in a troubled marriage with Bill (Clark Gregg) and suspects him of infidelity. Bill thinks since he is paying all the bills that Michelle is non-productive to the marriage. She makes little twig chairs to sell on consignment. Nobody wants her little chairs. Wanting to be more supportive, Michelle takes a job in a one-hour photo shop. Something that came with the job in the photo shop caught her eye -- her boss, her teenage boss, Jordan (Jake Gyllenhaal). Michelle ends up being arrested and charged with statutory rape. And after having had sex with Jordan, repeatedly, she tells the police "We didn't do anything!" How about that! Some actual consequences for immoral behavior and that lying did not "win" were portrayed in a movie! Aside from all the other sexually immoral and the foul language issues in this R-rated film, I would like to give extra attention to an issue presented in this movie ignored by or even treated as a positive feature in the secular reviews I've read; pedophilia [Gal. 5:19, Luke 17:2, Hebr. 13:4, Col. 3:5]. As with Tadpole, Lovely and Amazing presents pedophilia -- adult/teen sex -- as a major portion of the programming. I wonder if the presence of pedophilia in two of five films analyzed this week is coincidental. Or is it "part of life recognition" by filmmakers of the push of some groups to lower the age of consent. By God's Word marriage is the only consideration whether participating in sex is acceptable. Heterosexual marriage. Summarily from all His wisdom against immoral sex is that any sexual contact (including visual), conduct or activity outside a monogamous heterosexual marriage is sinful. Spearheading the apparent drive to lower the age of consent are the homosexual practitioners of North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA), famous for its push to entirely abolish any age of consent laws. I guess since pedophilia is an "element of real life" and since some practitioners of homosexuality are pushing for it that movies have to present it, the dire consequences of emboldening someone to sin with display of pedophilia as a behavioral template by example in and as entertainment notwithstanding [Luke 17:1]. The age of consent is already down to 16 in some parts of Europe. But in giving such "gratifying and fulfilling" attention to pedophilia in and as entertainment, just a little less desensitization will be needed next time. And a little less the next time. Desensitization. That how we got where we are, folks. Harvard educated child development expert Dr. Karen Nelson and many others agree with me that, though legally culpable for their behavior choices in many courts, it would be unusual for even a 16 year old to be able to fully separate fantasy from reality or to fully anticipate the consequences of their behavior choices. And we keep feeding them with sexual immorality in and as entertainment, emboldening the practice of and destroying natural inhibitions against immoral sex by sexual immorality in and as entertainment. And at the sexual peak of their lives no less. THAT is an explosive equation, folks. Ever wonder why there is so much unwed teen pregnancy? So much more per capital than before sex in sinema? Above I said "...since some practitioners of homosexuality are pushing for [pedophilia]..." Anticipating a great deal of attacks because of the telling that truth I offer the following research as the basis for that statement. Doctor Judith Reisman and others>, a social researcher who has studied sexual behavior for 24 years, released a new study called "Crafting Gay Children" which shows that while heterosexuals outnumber the homosexual practitioner population about 44 to 1 the incidence of homosexual practitioners molesting children is up to 40 times greater than heterosexuals. Taking figures from a 1991 population study by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Reisman looks at heterosexual abuse of girls by men and homosexual abuse of boys by men. Taking into account the numbers of homosexual practitioners and the numbers of heterosexuals in the population, the data showed that 8 million girls were abused by age 18 by heterosexual men, a ratio of 1 victim to 11 adult men. However, 6-8 million boys were abused by age 18 by 1-2 million adult homosexuals, a ratio of 3-5 victims for every gay adult. You do the math: 0.091 victims per heterosexual adult to 3 to 5 victims per adult homosexual practitioner. Sexual immorality, including pedophilia, and all the foul language [Prov. 22:11, Eph. 5:4] in Lovely and Amazing are the most of the ignominy. It presents teen drinking, getting the kids involved in marital arguments, but almost all line items on the logs involve some sort of sexual immorality. NOTE: The CAP Analysis Model makes no scoring allowances for trumped-up "messages" to excuse or for manufacturing of justification for aberrant behavior or imagery, or for camouflaging such ignominy with "redeeming" programming. Disguising sinful behavior in a theme plot does not excuse the sinful behavior of either the one who is drawing pleasure or example from the sinful display or the practitioners demonstrating the sinful behavior. This is NOT a movie review service. It is a movie analysis service to parents and grandparents to tell them the truth about movies using the Truth. |
"There are some in the entertainment industry who maintain that 1) violent programming is harmless because no studies exist that prove a connection between violent entertainment and aggressive behavior in children, and 2) young people know that television, movies, and video games are simply fantasy. Unfortunately, they are wrong on both accounts." And "Viewing violence may lead to real life violence." I applaud these associations for fortifying 1 Cor. 15:33. Read the rest of the story. From our nearly seven years of study, I contend that other aberrant behaviors, attitudes, and expressions can be inserted in place of "violence" in that statement. Our Director - Child Psychology Support, a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist concurs. For example, "Viewing arrogance against fair authority may lead to your kids defying you in real life." Or "Viewing sex may lead to sex in real life." Likewise and especially with impudence, hate and foul language. I further contend that any positive behavior can be inserted in place of "violence" with the same chance or likelihood of being a behavior template for the observer; of being incorporated into the behavior mechanics and/or coping skills of the observer. In choosing your entertainment, please consider carefully the "rest of the story" and our findings. |
