![]() (1998), NR -- if God's way is perfect it makes sense to obey Him. ![]() Production (US): Big Idea Productions Distribution (US): Lyrick Studios Director(s): Paul Vischer, Chris Olsen Producer(s): Chris Olsen Written by: Paul Vischer Cinematography/Camera: Music: Kurt Heinecke, Phil Vischer Audio & Video Editing: Mike Nawrocki Production Cooridnation: Jennifer Combs Art Direction: Joseph Sapulich Viewed on: Lyrick Studios VHS Should we do it our way or should we do it God's way? This is the question that forms the plot of this story about the Israelites - God's chosen people - and their obedience, or lack of it, to God's directions for them. God gave specific directions to the Israelites under Moses' supervision to get to the promised land after being rescued from slavery under the Pharaoh of Egypt. But once the Israelites arrived at the promised land, they turned around and left. For their disobedience, God told the Israelites they would have to live in the desert for 40 years. In that 40 years, God called Moses Home and Joshua took over leading the Israelites. Under Joshua's leadership, the Israelites resumed their trek to the promised land. But Joshua overlooked one detail - Jericho and its big wall preventing the Israelites from entering their promised land. God gave the Israelites another set of instructions on how to get through the wall of Jericho but they sounded really weird. Again some of them wanted to try their own way. Which way is successful? Is the wall-minator better than God's way? See for yourself in this 31 minute video with a special song, "Song of the Ceb (cebu)" as an added feature. If you do chose to view this video, see if your kids can tell me The foundational verse for this video is 2 Sam 22:31a. And as Junior Asparagus said, if God's way is perfect it makes sense to obey Him.

There are some in the entertainment industry who maintain that 1) violent programming is harmless because no studies exist that prove a connection between violent entertainment and aggressive behavior in children, and 2) young people know that television, movies, and video games are simply fantasy. Unfortunately, they are wrong on both accounts." And "Viewing violence may lead to real life violence." I applaud these associations for fortifying 1 Cor. 15:33. Read the rest of the story. From our more than eight years of study, I contend that other aberrant behaviors, attitudes, and expressions can be inserted in place of "violence" in that statement. Our Director - Child Psychology Support, a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist concurs. For example, "Viewing arrogance against fair authority may lead to your kids defying you in real life." Or "Viewing sex may lead to sex in real life." Likewise and especially with impudence, hate and foul language. I further contend that any positive behavior can be inserted in place of "violence" with the same chance or likelihood of being a behavior template for the observer; of being incorporated into the behavior mechanics and/or coping skills of the observer. In choosing your entertainment, please consider carefully the "rest of the story" and our findings. |
