THE JESUS VIDEO: SPECIAL EDITION (G) a.k.a THE PUBLIC LIFE OF JESUS -- you do NOT have to be "clean" first. Production: Inspirational Films, Inc. Distribution: JVP Director(s): John Krish, Peter Sykes Producer(s): Richard F. Dalton, John Heyman Written by/Screenplay: Barnet Fishbein Cinematography/Camera: Mike Reid Art Direction: Avishay Avivi In 2000 a special project called "The Jesus Project" was launched to get the 1979 Jesus video, a.k.a. The Public Life of Jesus, into as many homes worldwide as possible. This is the much requested CAP analysis of the special 83-minute version of The Jesus Video, shortened from the original 2 hour version. Remember that the CAP analysis model incorporates matters of invasive programming no matter the "justification" for it. All that is in this video is of the absolute Truth but that does not excuse exposing our youth to abrasive behavior until mom/dad say they are ready. That the MPAA rated this movie as G is again evidence of their extreme and meaningless subjectivity, ignoring brutal violence for the sake of a "message." This special shortened edition earned a CAP final score of 80, placing it squarely in the range of scores earned by PG movies (86 to 68 out of 100) in the CAP comparative baseline database of movies, mainly due to violence, but it was equivalent to some R-rated movies in horrible violence to our Lord. Further, it presented full side male nudity. Granted, the man possessed of the demons which Jesus cast into the swine was nude, but so was Jesus made nude as He was dragged through the streets. But the movie did not show the nudity our Lord suffered. Why compromise one without compromising the other? I believe the nudity of the possessed man was simply sensationalism. Remember, this film is not the Bible nor was it written by God. There is no need to summarize the story line since all of our "family" are familiar with the life of Jesus. Those who are not should watch the video for themselves so they can be open minded about it, think for themselves and become enlightened to what Jesus did for you and I, indeed for all of us. No exceptions. Knowing all the while He could have stopped it all with a simple thought to call legions of angels to defeat the combined forces against Him in an instant. But He did not. Though He could He did nothing to stop it knowing full well what was coming. Knowing full well His back would be ripped to dangling ribbons of flesh, His head impaled with a crown of thorns, that He would be beaten repeatedly, spat upon, dragged through the streets nude, impaled upon a cross through His ankles and wrists with what were probably nine inch nails (for the death metal fanatics out there) and much more. All for you and I. Period. Can you imagine being impaled on a cross with nails through your ankles and wrists while feeling the pain of thorns in your scalp and maybe with loose and/or missing teeth? All this with the throbbing of blunt instrument injuries to your abdomen and back? Can you imagine the only way to get a breath would be to put your full weight on the nails through your feet on top of all the other pains and throbbings? Can you imagine suffocating in your own body fluids? And if you can, would you do that for me? For your wife or husband? For your mother/father or children. Further, would you approve of one of your children going through all that even if doing so would save many from the fires of Hell for all eternity? Do you love your children that much? God did. That is how much He loves us. He gave us His only begotten Son that we may have eternal life. Tell Him you love Him. In gratitude ask Him to come into your heart and let Him be Lord and resurrected Savior for you. I spoke of eternity above. Can anyone fathom eternity? We will each live forever and where we spend our eternity is a choice we have to make. And by not choosing the choice is made. But back to the issue of eternity. Imagine that it takes 100,000,000 millennia to count one grain of sand on the Sahara Desert. By the time you have counted all grains of sand, your time in eternity will have barely gotten started. If we choose to reject Jesus, that is an idea how long we will have to stay in Hell where the fires never quench and the pain never subsides. And on the flip side, that is an idea of how long we will bask in Paradise if we invite Jesus into our hearts. He is knocking on the door to your heart. All you have to do is open it to Him. And if you do, don't try to talk to Him through the screen door. Open it, too. Find a pastor. Now. Ask him to lead you through the sinners prayer. Now. Next year, next week or tomorrow may be too late. Your eternity and where you spend it depends on what you do with this invitation or the same invitation from another. I will even lead you through the sinner's prayer by email if you wish. Just let me know. Better yet, read the following aloud to Jesus. And you do NOT have to be "clean" first: "Jesus, I believe in my heart that you are Lord and that you died to pay the price of my sins. And, Jesus, I believe that you were resurrected from the dead. I am a sinner, Jesus and I want you to be Lord of my life. I ask forgiveness of my sins, Jesus and I surrender my life to you. Please come into my heart, Jesus and be Lord of my life." If you uttered that prayer and meant it, you have been saved and have eternal life in Paradise. Go, find a pastor and tell him what you have done. Follow his lead. NOTE: The CAP Analysis Model makes no scoring allowances for trumped-up "messages" to excuse or for manufacturing of justification for aberrant behavior or imagery, or for camouflaging such ignominy with "redeeming" programming. Disguising sinful behavior in a theme plot does not excuse the sinful behavior of either the one who is drawing pleasure or example from the sinful display or the practitioners demonstrating the sinful behavior. This is NOT a movie review service. It is a movie analysis service to parents and grandparents to tell them the truth about movies using the Truth. |
"There are some in the entertainment industry who maintain that 1) violent programming is harmless because no studies exist that prove a connection between violent entertainment and aggressive behavior in children, and 2) young people know that television, movies, and video games are simply fantasy. Unfortunately, they are wrong on both accounts." And "Viewing violence may lead to real life violence." I applaud these associations for fortifying 1 Cor. 15:33. Read the rest of the story. From our nearly seven years of study, I contend that other aberrant behaviors, attitudes, and expressions can be inserted in place of "violence" in that statement. Our Director - Child Psychology Support, a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist concurs. For example, "Viewing arrogance against fair authority may lead to your kids defying you in real life." Or "Viewing sex may lead to sex in real life." Likewise and especially with impudence, hate and foul language. I further contend that any positive behavior can be inserted in place of "violence" with the same chance or likelihood of being a behavior template for the observer; of being incorporated into the behavior mechanics and/or coping skills of the observer. In choosing your entertainment, please consider carefully the "rest of the story" and our findings. |
