A score of zero out of 100 in Sexual Immorality. A score of 4 out of 100 in Impudence/Hate. Twenty-three in Offense to God (a child speaks one of the many uses of God's name in vain and with the four letter expletive, in anger no less). Thirty-five in Drugs/Alcohol. A true underdog story? A true R-13, maybe X-13. WARNING. This report reveals the content of this film as do all CAP Entertainment Media Analysis Reports. Some of the content of the film is most vulgar. I have tried to soften the descriptions as much as possible and still be truthful, but some descriptions are going to be uncomfortable for you because of the vulgarity of some of the demonstrations of the actors and actresses in this PG-13 film. If you feel uncomfortable about reading such things, leave this report now. Following is a description of the caliber of one of the activities in this film. In a cheer routine, a very heavy girl stood on the shoulders of a boy, then dropped on him, forcing his head between her legs with sounds of wetness as they are pulled apart -- and him enjoying it. Another fine example of [the] quality [of] PG-13 programming for our youth. And this movie contains a lesbian kiss to challenge that of Ellen Degeneras. With pride and arrogance in it. Even though it is demonstrated for 13 year old kids and younger. Just one more example of the caliber of this film is a young woman wearing a bathing suit performing carwash services using the top of her two-piece bathing suit as a wash rag ... while wearing it. This film aims low in just about every aspect of life, from the above vulgar humor to ethnic/racial slurs, insults of almost every kind. Even of the homosexual practitioners. Ben Stiller is White Goodman, owner and operator of the Globo Gym. Insufferable and with an attitude that shouts of ego and conceit, Goodman goes after the Average Joe's Gym to add to his collection. Every syllable of Goodman's speech is tuned to himself. Once a butterball turned fitness freak, Goodman's tagline is something like "Those who are fit are better than those who are not." It is clear his intellect leaves much to be desired. If it were not for his daddy's money, Goodman would be a poor undesirable instead of a rich undesirable. The Average Joe's Gym is owned and operated by nice guy Peter LaFleur (Vince Vaughn) who is as laid back as one can get. His gym is in financial trouble. Banker Kate Veatche (Christine Taylor) told Laleur he owes $50,000 or his gym will be repossessed. Lost for what to do, LaFleur and his ragtag members who use the gym more for a getaway than a gym enter into the Las Vegas International Dodgeball Open to win $50,000 in which, by the trickery of "It's who you know not what you know", the Average Joe's team ultimately faces off the Purple Cobras of Globo Gym in the final match after trouncing a variety of other teams. In the qualifying match, the Average Joe's team played against a team of girl scouts. By default the girl scouts lost and one of them screams God's name in vain to another scout for causing their team to loose. [Luke 17:2] Not having any experience or knowledge of dodgeball, the LaFleur team are desperate for guidance and training. Appears aging and wheelchair-bound dodgeball great Patches O'Houlihan (Rip Torn) who teaches the team how to play dodgeball by teaching them how to dodge thrown wrenches, "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." At the end, during the credits, imagine a "Nutty Professor" plumped up Stiller then imagine him juggling his body parts in sensual display. That will give you a good idea of the caliber of this film. The rest of drawing you own conclusions about the caliber of this film is left to the listing in the Findings/Scoring section if this film analysis report. We tell you the truth about the content of films no one else will tell you, including the MPAA, advertisers, promoters, etc., so you can make up your own mind whether a film is fit or not for your family. We tell you what is there ... objectively. You decide ... objectively. To emulate a copy-cat service who has done so since their inception, we are the #1 source of information for parents and grandparents about the content of films. No one else, not even the copy-cat service, provides you with such detailed and objective information. And not even they provide you with the comparative tools we provide. No one does. And no one can since our model is copyrighted and has been since 1995, long before the copy-cat service. Zero out of 100 in Impudence/Hate, mostly due to and crude humor and language, including the most foul of the foul words [Col. 3:8, Prov. 22:11] and God's name in vain with the four letter expletive [Deut. 5:11]. Zero out of 100 in Sexual Immorality due to immoral behavior and talk of just about every kind. [Gal. 5:19, Jude 7, Col. 3:5, 1Ths. 4:3, Rev. 22:14-15] SCRIPTURAL APPLICATION(S) If needed to focus or fortify, applicable text is underlined or bracketed [ ]. If you wish to have full context available, the Blue Letter Bible is a convenient source. If you use the Blue Letter Bible, a new window will open. There are some in the entertainment industry who maintain that 1) violent programming is harmless because no studies exist that prove a connection between violent entertainment and aggressive behavior in children, and 2) young people know that television, movies, and video games are simply fantasy. Unfortunately, they are wrong on both accounts." And "Viewing violence may lead to real life violence." I applaud these associations for fortifying 1 Cor. 15:33. Read the rest of the story. From our more than eight years of study, I contend that other aberrant behaviors, attitudes, and expressions can be inserted in place of "violence" in that statement. Our Director - Child Psychology Support, a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist concurs. For example, "Viewing arrogance against fair authority may lead to your kids defying you in real life." Or "Viewing sex may lead to sex in real life." Likewise and especially with impudence, hate and foul language. I further contend that any positive behavior can be inserted in place of "violence" with the same chance or likelihood of being a behavior template for the observer; of being incorporated into the behavior mechanics and/or coping skills of the observer. In choosing your entertainment, please consider carefully the "rest of the story" and our findings. |
