3 Ninjas CAP Thermometers

3 Ninjas (1992) could have been a fun and heart-warming movie if it were not for the proliferation of violence and crime, impunity, and sexually suggestive material throughout the movie. Threats of physical harm and death against children and aiming firearms at children were the chief causes for the low scoring.

Wanton Violence/Crime (W) failed due to Language was not as big a problem in 3 Ninjas as is typical with PG movies, but the Impunity/Hate (I) score(1) was still eroded due to 3 Ninjas lost a few points in Sex/Homosexuality (S) due to No instance of unacceptable material in the Drugs/Alcohol (D) CAP Investigation Area was noted.

A few of the starting 100 points in Offense to God (O) were lost due to a few instances of the use of God's name in vain.(2)

No instances applicable to the guidlines in Murder/Suicide (M).(3) were noted.

In accordance with the comparative baseline data, 3 Ninjas was equivalent to R-rated material in Wanton Violence/Crime and Impunity/Hate, to PG material in Sex/Homosexuality, and to G material in Drugs/Alcohol, Offense to God, and Murder/Suicide. Thus, 3 Ninjas was equivalent to the comparative baseline data corresponding to 33% R-rated material, 17% PG material, and 50% G-rated material.

Please remember we believe that if even one of the six Investigation Area scores for a movie is equivalent to the CAP comparative baseline databse scoring range for R, PG-13, or PG material, the entire movie should be regarded as so rated.  For example, if only Wanton Violence/Crime earns a score equivalent to R but all other Investigation Areas earn a score equivalent to G, THERE IS R-RATED MATERIAL IN THE MOVIE AND YOUR KIDS WILL SEE IT AND HEAR IT IF THEY WATCH THE MOVIE!

Below is the table showing the scoring in each of the Investigation Areas plus the Final Score drawn from the actual CAP Report. In addition, the number of examples per hour of unacceptable material in each of the Investigation Areas is provided.

3 Ninjas CAP Scorecard

(1) As noted in CAP Special Report-0001, "Investigation Area and Scoring Trend" Impunity/Hate was the strongest presence in all four movie classifications. I pray you will find time to read Special Report-0001. It has a strong revelation about the entertainment media.

(2) The use of the three/four letter word vocabulary is incorporated into the Impunity/Hate Investigation Area. The use of God's name in vain with and without the three/four letter word vocabulary is incorporated into the Offense to God Investigation Area.

(3) If observed, attempts to commit murder or suicide are incorporated into the Wanton Violence/Crime CAP Investigation Area. Successful murder or suicide is incorporated into the Murder/Suicide CAP Investigation Area.
