Corrina, Corrina was not a violent movie nor were any elements of drugs, alcohol, murder, or suicide noted. However, the movie gave examples of how malcontent children can talk to their parents with impunity and arrogance, even hate*. The movie also gave examples of how to lie about skipping school. While there were a few sexual innuendoes, the deepest offense was in Offense to God. A parent taught his child that the Scriptures and the Trinity were make-believe
* As noted in CAP Special Report-0001, "Investigation Area Scoring and Trend in CAP Entertainment Media Investigations," impunity/hate was the strongest presence in all four movie classifications. If you have not had an opportunity to read Special Report-0001, I pray you will find time to do so. It has a strong revelation about the entertainment media.
A daughter was heard calling her father a liar and "I hate you, It's all your fault" while combating him -- certainly an example of how the entertainment media portrays low coping skills as acceptable and even desirable! The use of God's name in vain was present repeatedly.*
* While foul language (the three/four letter word vocabulary) is acounted for in Impunity/Hate, the use of God's name in vain, with or without the three/four letter word vocabulary, is accounted for in Offense to God.
The ChildCare Action Project findings for Corrina, Corrina are as follows.
In accordance with the comparative baseline data, Corrina, Corrina was G material in Wanton Violence/Crime, Impunity/Hate, Sex/Homosexuality, Drugs/Alcohol, and Murder/Suicide. It was PG-13 material in Offense to God.
